Beyond the Game: Mastering the Landscape of the mind

For over a decade, I lived out a dream on paper. I played professional hockey for ten years across seven different countries, chasing the puck from the edge of the NHL to the elite leagues of Europe. To the outside world, I was the picture of athletic success and mental toughness. 

But behind the jersey, I was fighting a completely different battle.

As a survivor of childhood trauma and the son of an alcoholic household, I spent years running from deep emotional blockages, anxiety, and suppressed memories. I used the brutal physicality and fast-paced distraction of professional sports as a shield. But the adversity away from the rink eventually caught up to me, forcing me to realize a profound truth: True mental conditioning isn't about suppressing your pain—it's about having the grit to face it.
